Jonathan Valdez is a New York City-based Telehealth Registered Dietitian Nutritionist named Top Pro by Diet Spotlight from 2017-2018. He is a Certified Personal Trainer specializing in gerontological nutrition, sports nutrition, diabetes, healthy aging, and weight loss.
His passion for nutrition began in Hawai'i, where he grew up in a diverse culture surrounded by the spirit of aloha. When his grandmother died from Type 2 Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease, he didn't realize how diet and exercise played a role in prevention and disease management. After understanding how food and exercise are tied together, he set his journey to becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.

He received his bachelor of science in food science & human nutrition at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa— continued his education for a master of business administration at the Brennan School of Business at Dominican University in Chicago, Illinois. During his studies, he traveled to Perú and South Africa, where he gained humbling experiences aiding communities with different cultures, beliefs, and values while making nutrition understandable and accessible.
