Julie
Julie has more than 25 years of experience working in the field of dietetics with specialties that include emotional and disordered eating, digestive health, and healing from a history of dieting and body image struggles. Julie’s approach is built on education, research, and experience working in settings ranging from university wellness, adjunct professor, hospital outpatient counseling, and private practice. Both her podcast, Shame Free Eating, and her book, Ditch the Diet: How to Reclaim your Health and Enjoy Food, encapsulate her passion and are resources for those searching for answers to their struggles with eating.
Approach to care
Julie provides nutrition counseling with an intuitive eating approach that nurtures the body, mind and spirit while also addressing specific health care needs. Dieting has led many people to be frustrated and feel shame about eating and their bodies. Julie is dedicated to empowering people to ditch dieting and develop a positive relationship to food, their body, and authentic health. She has counseled hundreds of clients and is a professional speaker presenting nutrition topics to all audiences — from local forums to state and national conferences.
