About
Rebecca
Welcome! My name is Rebecca, and I've been a registered dietitian for over 14 years. I pursued a degree in dietetics and nutrition in college because I struggled myself with eating and body image issues as a teen, which led me to pursue nutrition and dietetics in college. I made my way through a variety of positions in different areas of nutrition before I had the opportunity to specialize in eating disorders and disordered eating. The time I spent in other areas of healthcare gave me knowledge that I use in my current practice. I love connecting with people and hearing about their life experiences because, while we all have similarities, each person has a unique story.
Approach to care
I practice from a weight-inclusive lens, which supports people in adopting habits for the sake of health and well-being rather than weight control. I work with the whole person to provide highly individualized care. I believe every person is capable of listening to and trusting their intuition and become the expert of your own body. I help people to find a peaceful approach to eating, to develop self-care habits that come from a place of compassion and not from a place of shame. I use this approach both in the disordered eating space as well as in treatment of medical health conditions.

What to expect in your first session with Rebecca?

The first session is all about getting to know you! While I can't possibly learn everything about you in just one session, I will hear what brought you here, how you're feeling about working with a dietitian, and what you hope to accomplish during our time together. I like to think that my work spans both the medical world and mental health world, so information I might gather about you will include medical history, current eating, exercise, and other self-care habits, your experiences with food growing up, and thoughts and feelings toward food, health, movement, and your body.
