
Ruth Ranks is a registered dietitian with 30+ years of experience primarily focused on health promotion, nutrition counseling, and health behavior change. Ruth’s passion for the science of nutrition was sparked as a teen, when her father survived (and later thrived) after having a heart attack when he was just 44 years old. Based in southeast Michigan, she is a graduate of Albion College (economics & nutrition) and the University of Cincinnati (nutrition education), and has completed advanced training in adult weight management, prediabetes, heart health, lifestyle nutrition, mindful eating, and health coaching. Ruth’s approach is personalized, collaborative and non-judgmental. She enjoys guiding people as they work toward their goals to improve health and enjoy delicious food in ways that are realistic and sustainable. Her mission to help you become your own health expert by discovering the skills and strategies which work best for you, growing those skills into lasting habits, and celebrating your successes with you along the way! Many of Ruth’s favorite activities also involve food, including browsing grocery store shelves to see what is new, and visiting farmer's markets. Walking outdoors, exploring new places, reading, and trying to learn to meditate are her favorite ways to stay active and manage stress.
