I am a Dietitian with 11+ years of experience focusing on gut health, weight loss, lifestyle change, and helping people fulfill their healthiest potential. I have experience in nutrition education, public speaking, corporate wellness, and personal training. I hold an MS in Human Nutrition and Metabolism which has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of how biology and environmental factors can impact metabolism and food choices. Ultimately, I aim to meet each client's unique needs, food beliefs, schedules, and habits that allow them to make diet and lifestyle shifts that result in renewed energy, better sleep, and achievement of health goals.
Approach to care
I believe in fostering a collaborative relationship. You bring your goals and strengths, and I bring the knowledge and expertise to help you achieve them. When working with clients, they can expect that I will set small, attainable goals that pave the way for lasting and sustainable changes. Oftentimes, my clients don't need me to tell them WHAT to eat, they need me to help them shift their mentality, remove barriers to change, and figure out HOW to eat. I will meet you where you are in your journey. My goal is to give you the tools and education you need in order to build or rebuild healthy habits that may have been pushed aside or forgotten about in order to achieve a balanced lifestyle.
What to expect in your first session with Shelby?
Together in our first session, we will really get to know you! I'm interested in learning about who you are as an individual, explore your goals, medical history, barriers to change, current habits, lifestyle and food preferences, and ultimately come up with a set of actions that are personalized to you and your specific needs. This is also a great time to ask questions and make sure you feel confident in your next steps moving forward.
