Tammy Beasley is a registered, licensed dietitian/nutritionist who has devoted her 35+ years of experience to helping clients explore their food and body relationship through a lens of self-compassion and curiosity. Tammy loves helping clients discover how to balance nourishment and pleasure in their food choices to enjoy physical, mental and emotional well-being. As an RDN with lived experience of her own eating disorder recovery, she knows the shame messages that are integral to the diet culture in which we live and considers it an honor to partner with her clients to not only refute judgment and misinformation but also restore healing and hope. After graduating from Auburn University's College of Human Sciences, Tammy completed her dietetic internship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, practicing as a clinical dietitian at UAB Hospitals before moving to Miami, Florida in the 1990s for nine years. She credits her South Florida years working alongside amazing eating disorder professionals and the opportunity to learn from and practice with some of the pioneers in the field as igniting her lifelong passion for eating disorder treatment and prevention. As the first RDN certified in 1993 as an eating disorder specialist with iaedp, and the first Alabama RDN certified as a sports dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition, Tammy combined her love for sports nutrition and eating disorder recovery throughout her years in private practice. She has also practiced in all levels of eating disorder care and has served in leadership roles for eating disorder professional organizations and treatment programs, but she loves the one-on-one interactions with clients the most! Tammy approaches every client relationship as a partnership and every client story as an opportunity to discover the healing power of nutrition together.
