Julie is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and has been helping people discover how nutrition and healthy food relationships can enhance health for over twelve years. She holds a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Nutrition, Fitness, & Health from Purdue University where she also completed her dietetic internship through Purdue’s Coordinated Program. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Purdue and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.She addresses client concerns with the understanding that many factors play into food choices. She compassionately weaves evidenced-based nutrition information and intuitive eating strategies when working with clients, also paying close attention to other important factors - physical activity, sleep, stress, and the whole person.She is driven to help individuals prioritize their nutrition in a comfortable small-steps approach, while helping them discover how to incorporate variety and balance with flexibility in mind. She has a special interest helping people better navigate the grocery store and to develop meal planning and kitchen skills that promote health. She works to empower individuals to mindfully connect to what their bodies need.Julie has significant experience collaborating with individuals for positive lifestyle change, helping them discover realistic methods they can use to improve their health especially in the areas of prediabetes, disease prevention, and healthy aging, hypertension, elevated lipid levels, and cardiovascular disease, weight loss, weight management, and bariatrics, food intolerances, and gut issues (specifically Celiac Disease and IBS). She believes that healthy behaviors can develop at any size, that while we all have room for improvements unique to our own self, we also have the capacity to make life-giving steps that can snowball into life-long change and better health. Her goal is to help people find a healthy lifestyle that is life-giving, joy-filled, and sustainable that improves their quality of life.She resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with her husband and two teen children. When she is not working, she loves experimenting and playing in the kitchen, dabbling into food photography and blogging, staying physically active, getting outside each day, summer gardening, traveling to new places, watching her kids grow and perform in their high school marching band, and playing with her family’s two cats, Gus & Ivy!Julie would love to walk alongside you to help you achieve your personal health goals!
