We currently work with Blue Cross Blue Shield (this includes BCBS plans of any state and any associated plans such as Anthem, Highmark, Independence, etc.), United Healthcare (including UMR, Oxford, and Student Resources), and Aetna (including Meritain). We do not accept Medicaid at this time. Please reach out if you'd like us to add coverage for another network!
Most patients can receive unlimited visits. If your plan has a visit limit, we will reach out to you via email before your first appointment to notify you.
If you end up having a surprise visit limit, we will not charge you for any denied sessions!
If you book an appointment online, we will only match you with a provider who accepts your insurance. You can also use the Find a Provider page to search for dietitians that accept your insurance.
A copay is a fixed fee (determined by your insurance) that you pay for each session.
A coinsurance is similar - it is a fee that you must pay for each session after you meet your deductible. The amount is determined by insurance, and it is typically a percentage of the total appointment cost.
Use our insurance coverage calculator to verify your coverage and get an estimate for your copay or coinsurance to see a Nourish dietitian.
Please note that the calculator provides an estimate for your copay/coinsurance, and while we do our best to give you the most accurate estimate possible, sometimes the actual cost you get back from insurance may vary. In that case, you will be responsible for payment for the copay/coinsurance cost determined by your insurance.
A deductible is an agreed-upon amount you must pay for covered healthcare services before your insurance plan starts to pay. You can find out your deductible amount (and how much you’ve already met) by calling your insurance or logging into your insurance portal.
If your claim goes to a deductible you don’t wish to contribute to, we will not charge you for any sessions that have already occurred. We will reach out to you personally to determine payment options for future sessions if you wish to continue working with your dietitian.
An out-of-pocket maximum is the most you will have to pay to receive covered services in a plan year. After you spend this amount (typically on copays, coinsurance, and/or deductibles), your health plan pays 100% of the cost for covered services. You can reach out to your insurance company to determine your out-of-pocket maximum and how much you have already met in a given year.
Nourish does not handle any billing for out-of-network plans. We can offer you a superbill that you can submit to your insurance in hopes of getting reimbursed. It is your responsibility to inquire with your insurance company regarding these benefits and submit superbills (we can provide you with the superbill). The session fee must be paid at the time of service.
We provide private-pay services at the rate of $145 per session. You are more than welcome to see one of our dietitians and pay out-of-pocket!
The Nourish Guarantee is our commitment to providing a no-surprise billing experience for you! Our guarantee is:
Nourish is currently in-network with major insurance companies, including Blue Cross Blue Shield Companies (check your local plan for coverage), United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna and Medical Mutual of Ohio.
94% of in-network patients pay $0 out-of-pocket. Use our coverage calculator to verify your insurance coverage and learn more about how we work with your insurance company.
In some rare cases, there are costs associated with using insurance. The Nourish Guarantee is our commitment to providing a no-surprise billing experience for you:
Contact us today at support@usenourish.com if you have any other questions.
Yes, Nourish accepts Medicare for patients who meet Medicare eligibility requirements (kidney disease or diabetes, with a doctor’s referral).
No! 94% of our patients have sessions fully covered by insurance, at $0 out of pocket cost to them. There are no other hidden or surprise fees with Nourish. That said, you will be responsible for any copay or co-insurance payments determined by your insurance policy agreement.
Yes! You are welcome to pay using HSA or FSA funds.
Nourish patients can update their insurance in the Nourish patient portal by visiting https://app.usenourish.com/#/portal and adding a new insurance policy in the “Insurance” tab.
We require a credit card to be kept on file for all clients primarily to enforce our late cancellation/no-show policy ($75) or for any copays/coinsurance. You will only be responsible for a no-show fee if you fail to show up to your appointment or attempt to cancel/reschedule it within 24 hours of the appointment start time.
If we are in-network with your insurance provider, we will work hard to ensure coverage for your services. A small percentage of our clients incur some out-of-pocket costs from their insurance, such as copayments or coinsurance. In those instances, you will be responsible for those fees. However, we will not charge you without advanced notice, and will work with you and the insurance provider to minimize costs when possible.
If your insurance denies payment, we will not charge you for any sessions that have already occurred. We will reach out to you personally to determine payment options for future sessions if you wish to continue working with your dietitian
An active insurance policy is required both at the time of scheduling and throughout your time at Nourish if you wish to use insurance to pay for our services. If your insurance is inactive or becomes inactive and you attend an appointment, you will be charged a self-pay rate of $145 for that visit. You are still welcome to do appointments with no insurance, but you would be responsible for paying $145 per session out-of-pocket.
